The automobile plant "URAL" is completing a major investment project, the cost of which is estimated at 1 billion rubles. Already in October of this year, a modern logistics center for original spare parts of the Ural brand will start operating in Miass, Chelyabinsk Region. A single warehouse with an area of more than 10,000 square meters is equipped with the latest technology and will accommodate everything from a nut to a car frame.
The history of the project began back in 2020, when the management of the URAL automobile plant formed new tasks for the investment development of the enterprise. High-quality and timely fulfillment of orders is a priority when organizing any work at a car factory. After assessing the capabilities of the former spare parts warehouses and the speed of their work, problems of functioning were identified. Therefore, the top managers of the plant decided to develop a project to create a single, automated and functional warehouse complex for spare parts

– In the market of spare parts and services in the current conditions, it is very important to be prompt. The demands of automotive heavy equipment customers today are much higher than they were five years ago. Professional, quality service and timely delivery of reliable spare parts are becoming a new trend. Therefore, the plant relies on the high efficiency of this project. We are confident that this billion-dollar investment project will begin to bear fruit in the very near future, primarily for end consumers - car owners throughout our country and abroad.
The work that has been done in two years is really impressive. The building was built almost from scratch after strengthening the load-bearing structures. Inside, new electrical networks, heating, supply and exhaust systems were installed. Mainly after moving the warehouse of spare parts to a new location, the area significantly increases, allowing you to competently “divorce” the flows of receiving, storing and shipping goods. So the main warehouse will occupy an area of 10500 m². The complex is being created as modern and equipped as possible. Dock shelters and hydraulic leveling platforms have been installed. In addition to the above, the new complex is equipped with modern shelving systems that provide storage for more than 4,500 pallet places and more than 25,000 places for plastic containers. To work on multi-tiered racks, eight electric stackers with a lifting height of up to six meters and the ability to lift loads up to 1500 kg were purchased.
The logistics routes for the movement of products inside the warehouse will now be organized in one direction and will not create congestion. Due to the separation of the zone of acceptance and shipment of goods in opposite directions, it is possible to carry out simultaneous loading and unloading, working with eight vehicles at once. A WMS warehouse management system was also purchased. It will bring the processes of organizing work to a completely modern new level. The warehouse should start operating at full capacity in October this year.
Among other things, the center's employees are provided with comfortable conditions for work, technological breaks and meals.
Recall that as part of this project, in May 2021, an official retail store of spare parts was opened on the territory of the model building, located at Dinamovskoe shosse 2a. We add that the Service Center continues to operate near the new warehouse, where Ural vehicles are serviced, repaired and modified for customers, the transformation of which will also be completed in October - early November of this year. Thanks to the general design concept, the Dinamovskoye Highway line from the side of the URAL Automobile Plant will be aesthetically decorated in the corporate gray-orange color of the enterprise.
